Volunteer and Internship Opportunities

Communication Works (CW) is a growing speech-language pathology practice in the Bay Area that specializes in providing services to children and adults. We offer an excellent internship programs for graduate students and SLPA students who need to complete their 80 hours of practicum as well as volunteer opportunities for all interested college students and other interested adults.

CW has a well-known on-site clinic that conducts social language groups and individual therapy for those with social-cognitive deficits. Interns and volunteers will grow from observing to assisting a Speech-Language Pathologists facilitate groups of 3-4 clients focusing on pragmatic language skills. Interns will also be asked to help with the planning and development of therapy material related to the clinic and therapy groups.

Other opportunies include a center based early intervention and various school site internships assisting a licensed speech-language pathologist.

Communication Works requires a minium committment of three months from interns and volunteers. Clinic schedules include once or twice a week, four hour block within the hours of 11:00am to 7:30pm (Monday-Saturday). With that committment, CW offers a first class training and mentorship program with ongoing career guidance. We are dedicated to supporting and encouraging the SLP and SLPAs of the future and helping to educate and support the community.
