Sign, Say, and Play Classes

Babies can use gestures before they can talk. It is much easier for babies to move their hands than to move their mouths to form words. Using signs at a young age can make it easier for your baby or toddler to get his or her message across, which can lessen miscommunication and frustration. This approach can result in earlier language development and set a strong foundation for future language skills.

Our Program

Communication Works’ Baby Signs Program® provides techniques to help you engage in early communication with your baby or toddler. We provide fun and interactive classes taught by a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist with extensive experience working with young children. 

Learning Goals Include:

1. Simple ways to support your baby or toddler's intellectual and emotional development
2. Further development of your baby or toddler’s language through sign language, other tools, and tips
3. Useful signs taught through fun songs, books, and activities
4. Ways to continue learning and language development at home with the “Sign, Say, and Play Kit” (included)

Structure

Our Baby Signs Program consists of a series of 6 theme-based classes over 6 weeks.  The 45-minute sessions are designed for both parents/caregivers and babies/toddlers to learn techniques for early communication. The Sign, Say, and Play Kit is included in the cost of your sessions when you enroll. Options are available for in-home and individual sessions. Please call to inquire for details.
